From the Beltway Rte I- 495. From either direction, take Exit 39, Rte.
190, which is River Road, and proceed in direction of Potomac. Bretton Woods
Recreation Center is 11.5 miles from the Beltway. You will drive through Potomac
Village en route. The Center is on the left hand side just before River Road
intersects at a T-junction with Seneca Road. The entry is marked by a wooden
sign, on which we will hang balloons. If you dead-end at Seneca you have gone
too far! From the entry gate to Bretton Woods follow the driveway, keeping to
the right where it forks. The clubhouse is at the end of the road, plenty of
parking in front of the building. Look for the entrance to the left of the
clubhouse as you face it. More balloons will be hung there. It is important that
you take this entrance only.
From Points North. If you are driving from Frederick, Germantown,
Gaithersburg, Damascus, etc., take I-270 South. Exit on Quince Orchard Road (Md.
124) in direction of Darnestown. Go 2.7 miles and turn right on Darnestown Road
(Md.28). Continue 2.5 miles and make a left on Seneca Road (Md.112) and go 2.8
miles. Turn left on River Road (Md. 190) and then almost immediately right into
entrance to Bretton Woods.
From Rockville either take I-270 North to Exit 10 to Quince Orchard
Blvd. After exiting, turn right on Route Md.117 West, and at the second traffic
light, Rte. Md. 124, Quince Orchard Blvd. turn left. See above for further
directions. Alternatively, take Rte. Md. 28 West to Darnestown and follow above
directions to Seneca Road.
From the District of Columbia take River Road out all the way.
